Terms of service

Last updated: 1 October 2026

These terms explain how ColdStop Pro provides its service, what you can expect from us and what we ask of you. Please read them before you buy. If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your legal rights.

1. About us

ColdStop Pro is a trading name of CS Ventures Group Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16932569), with its registered office at Wyevale Business Park, 2 Wyevale Way, Hereford, HR4 7BS. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean CS Ventures Group Ltd, and “you” means the person who buys and signs up for the service. You can contact us at hello@coldstop.co.uk.

2. What we do

We ask companies that collect and sell business contact information to delete your work contact details and to stop using them for direct marketing. Acting as your authorised agent, we:

  • send each company an objection to direct marketing and a request for erasure under UK data protection law, together with proof of your authority and the details the company reasonably needs to find your record;
  • record and sort the replies we receive;
  • follow up with companies that have not responded by the legal deadline, which is normally one calendar month, including by making a formal data protection complaint to the company where appropriate; and
  • keep you informed of the outcome.

On the quarterly and annual plans, we also re-check each company every quarter during your subscription. Where your details appear to have returned, or there is another good reason, we send a new request. Where a company has already confirmed removal, we ask it to confirm that this remains in place. We decide which companies to contact, and our list may change over time as companies open, close or change how they operate.

3. What we cannot promise

Our service is designed to reduce cold calls and unsolicited emails, not to stop them all. Results vary, and we cannot guarantee a particular result.

  • We cannot control whether, or how quickly, a company complies with a request, or whether your details are later collected again from other sources.
  • Contact from organisations that do not use these databases, or that already have your details for another reason, is not affected.
  • Some companies only accept requests through their own web forms or ask you to confirm your identity. Where that happens, we will tell you and explain what to do.
  • We are not a law firm. We do not give legal advice or bring legal action on your behalf. If a company refuses a request or does not respond, we will tell you and explain how you can complain to the Information Commission (ICO) if you wish to.

4. Who can use the service

You must be 18 or over and based in the UK. You may only ask us to act in relation to your own personal details, and the information you give us must be accurate and complete.

5. How to sign up

  • Choose a plan and pay. Payment is taken securely by Stripe. Our contract with you begins when your payment is accepted.
  • Complete the sign-up form and sign your letter of authority online.
  • Confirm your email address. We send your requests only after you have done so.

Once you have paid, we will email you confirmation of your order, with a copy of these terms and details of your right to cancel. If you pay but decide not to complete sign-up, please contact us and we will refund you in full.

6. Your letter of authority

Your letter of authority appoints us as your agent for the sole purpose of making the requests described in these terms, handling the replies and raising data protection complaints about those requests with the companies concerned. We will not use it for anything else. It stays in force for as long as your service lasts, and for any reasonable period needed to complete requests already made, unless you withdraw it earlier. You may withdraw it at any time by emailing us. Withdrawing your authority ends the service, and section 9 explains any refund.

7. Prices and payment

  • One-off clean sweep: £29, paid once.
  • Quarterly protection: £19, charged every three months.
  • Annual protection: £59, charged every year.

Prices are in pounds sterling. We are not currently registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged. Subscription payments are taken automatically, at the start of each period, from the card you used to sign up.

Upgrade offer: if you buy the one-off clean sweep and upgrade to annual protection within 30 days, we will credit the £29 you paid, so your first year costs £30.

Discount codes can be used once, cannot be exchanged for cash, and are subject to any conditions stated when they are issued.

If we change our prices, we will give subscribers at least 30 days' notice before the new price applies at renewal, so that you can cancel beforehand if you wish.

8. Renewals and cancelling a subscription

Quarterly and annual plans renew automatically until you cancel. We will email you a reminder before each renewal, telling you the renewal date, the amount and how to cancel. You may cancel at any time online, using the “Manage subscription” link in your emails from us, or by emailing hello@coldstop.co.uk. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for: the service continues until then, and you will not be charged again. Apart from your rights under section 9, we do not refund part-used periods.

9. Your right to cancel within 14 days

If you are a consumer, you may cancel your contract within 14 days of the day it begins, without giving a reason.

Because our service begins as soon as you confirm your email address, we ask you during sign-up, using a separate tick box, to request expressly that we start work within the 14-day period. If you then cancel within the 14 days, we will refund what you paid, less a proportionate amount for the service we have supplied up to the time you tell us. We work this out by comparing the work completed with the whole of the service you bought. If the service has been fully performed within the 14 days, you will no longer have the right to cancel.

To cancel, email hello@coldstop.co.uk with your name and a clear statement that you wish to cancel. You may use the cancellation form included in your order confirmation email, but you do not have to. We will refund you within 14 days of receiving your notice, using the payment method you used.

If you are a consumer on the annual plan, you also have 14 days from each renewal date to cancel that renewal. We will refund the renewal payment, less a proportionate amount for any service supplied since the renewal date.

10. Your responsibilities

  • Give us accurate information and tell us promptly if any of it changes.
  • Respond to any reasonable request from us, or from a company we have contacted, to confirm your identity or complete a step only you can take.
  • Keep confirmation links and any account details we send you private.
  • Do not use the service for anyone else's details, or for any unlawful or abusive purpose.

11. When we may suspend or end the service

We may suspend or end the service if you give us false information, ask us to act for someone without their authority, misuse the service, or fail to pay. We will tell you why. If we decide to stop providing ColdStop Pro altogether, we will give you at least 30 days' notice and refund any payment for a period you will not receive.

12. Our responsibility to you

We will provide the service with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.

If you are a consumer, we are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, or for business losses such as loss of profit or opportunity.

If you are buying as a business, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue or business.

We are not responsible for the independent acts or omissions of third-party organisations that are outside our reasonable control. This does not exclude our responsibility for loss caused by our own breach of contract, negligence or failure to use reasonable care and skill.

13. Your personal data

Our privacy policy explains how we use your personal data, including the details we share with the companies we contact for you.

14. Complaints

If you are unhappy with our service, please email hello@coldstop.co.uk. We will respond as quickly as we can and in any event within 14 days.

15. Other important terms

  • Transfer. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation, for example if the ColdStop Pro business moves to a different company. We will tell you in writing, and if you are unhappy you may cancel and receive a refund for any period you will not receive.
  • Changes to these terms. We may update these terms. For subscribers, significant changes will apply from your next renewal, and we will tell you beforehand.
  • Third parties. No one other than you and us has any right to enforce these terms.
  • Severability. If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest will continue to apply.
  • Law and courts. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You may bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in the courts where you live.
